Glutathione is “The Master Antioxidant”, made up of glutamic acid, cysteine, and glycine – three essential amino acids.
Glutathione is something our bodies make naturally, but we often don’t have enough to be at our best. Why? Well, free radicals really are the answer. Yes, I am talking about what we all know to cause cancer!
In our society, we have insufficient nutrients in our food to begin with, but we are also bombarded by pollutants! All the naturally made glutathione is used up to fight off the results of life as we know it today. Free radicals from the oxidative stress are able to roam free in our bodies and kill our cells. These free radicals bind to our bodies’ naturally made glutathione, and we can feel decreased energy, brain fog, joint pain, headaches, and our natural defense systems in our body can be down, aka our immune systems!
If we increase our glutathione with an IV solution directly into our blood stream, we are able to help our own bodies own natural processes to decrease cell destruction. This leads to increased energy, better immunity, slows down the aging process related to cellular death, and can even help to prevent chronic illness.
It really does it all!
Vitamin C is the second antioxidant on our list. Like glutathione, it also helps to combat those nasty free radicals. It is a water-soluble vitamin, meaning it is not something your body stores extra of, for later use. We are supposed to get this from the foods we eat and it can be found naturally in fruits and vegetables. Let’s face it, these days, even when we try to eat healthy, life gets in the way!
Vitamin C infused or injected can help to strengthen your immune system and reduce inflammation.
For all you beauty enthusiasts, you’ll be interested to know that it also works with your body’s natural enzymes to ensure the production collagen. Believe it or not, you can’t form collagen without this one!
Biotin is also known as vitamin B7. The name "biotin" is derived from the Greek word "biotos," which means "life" or "sustenance." This reflects the essential role biotin plays in metabolic processes necessary for life. It helps us to metabolize certain amino acids and is involved in Gluconeogenesis. This ensures a stable supply of glucose for tissues, especially the brain and red blood cells, which rely on glucose as a primary energy source.
The results of deficiency of this vitamin can lead to issues like hair loss, skin rash, and neurological abnormalities. Deficiencies can be caused by raw egg white consumption, gastrointestinal disorders, antibiotic use, and some medications interfere with biotin absorption and utilization.
This vitamin is known in the wellness industry as our beauty booster. It is often promoted for its benefits for skin, hair and nail health. It also plays a role in the metabolism of glucose and fatty acids.
All water-soluble vitamins we should get from the foods we eat, but sometimes don’t get enough!
B1 - Thiamine is found naturally in meats and fish, but is often “cooked out” by high-heat or long cooking times. It can be added back to foods like cereals, but we know processed foods are not a fantastic source for nutrients!
B2 - Riboflavin is found in dairy products and meat, so if you’re vegan, this would be great for you in an infusion! This vitamin helps your enzymes to promote cell growth, break down fats, steroids, and medications, and assists with energy production.
B3 - Niacin assists with more than 400 enzymes to keep our bodies functioning the way they’re supposed to. It is an antioxidant that helps our body convert other nutrients into energy, so it fights fatigue. Even better, it supports our nervous system, which is often fried! No thanks to life, in this day and age!
B5 - Pantothenic acid helps our body’s natural metabolic functions and breaks down fatty acids. It has been studied as a natural alternative to lowering cholesterol. Increasing this vitamin in our diets is recommended to keep your cholesterol levels low, and infusing it would mean doubling down on a known benefit!
B6 - Pyridoxine plays a role in supporting brain health and the day-to-day operations of our immune system. It helps to breakdown proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. This keeps our levels of homocysteine low and as a result, decreases our risk for issues with the heart.
Methylcobalamin is the naturally occurring form of vitamin B12, meaning it is not chemically synthesized. We only use the good stuff!
B12 is found in meats, eggs, fish, and milk - so this intramuscular shot or IV infusion is great for vegans and vegetarians. A deficiency can cause sleep cycle disturbances, nerve damage, depression, memory loss, and all-around fatigue.
This vitamin is best known for increasing energy levels. It is involved in the metabolism of fats and amino acids. It turns our food into fuel! We need B12 for our body to produce red blood cells, which carry oxygen to our organs, and it even plays an important role in regenerating and repairing nerve and brain cells! This vitamin is neuroprotective. It helps memory issues and many people with chronic neurological illnesses, like multiple sclerosis, swear by it to feel better!
Zinc is an essential element for our body. When levels are too low, brain fog and fatigue set it. You can have weight gain, hair loss, digestive issues, and wound healing can take a long time.
Although you can find small amounts of zinc in plant-based foods like chickpeas, shellfish and lamb are known for their high content. You can also find it in dark chocolate, believe it or not, but moderation with sweets is also important!
People with gastrointestinal illnesses and diseases like IBS, Crohn’s Disease, and Ulcerative Colitis tend to be deficient in zinc due to decreased absorption of nutrients in the gut. We’re actually recognizing more and more as a society; our guts don’t work the way they should! Your body also doesn’t store zinc, so it’s important to supplement if you don’t get enough in your diet.
An infusion or IM shot with this element is especially important in the fall and winter when colds, Flu, and Covid are all running rampant. Choosing to supplement this element directly into our bodies this way, bypasses the gut, and makes it more readily available to boost your immune system and avoid the terrible effects of deficiency.
Magnesium is a crucial part in the functioning of over 300 enzyme systems in our bodies, including nerve function, protein synthesis, and blood pressure regulation. It even helps to maintain a steady, normal heart rhythm by aiding the movement of calcium and potassium across the cells, prompting muscle contraction and impulse conduction!
Things like alcohol use, poor diet, regular consumption of caffeinated beverages, calcium supplements, illnesses, cancer, and stress can all deplete our magnesium levels. Early signs of low levels include fatigue, loss of appetite, weakness, nausea, and vomiting. Severe symptoms include seizures, cramps, personality changes, irregular heartbeats, accelerated heart rate, neurological and neuromuscular dysfunction, and numbness or tingling in your extremities.
Magnesium injections and infusions help to safely increase the levels of magnesium in your body. It may even make you feel relaxed and destressed, and has been known to improve sleep! This mineral is more potent by infusion or injection because we bypass the need for the digestive system to break it down for absorption, making this a great way to feel better when you’re sluggish, and get your body functioning at its highest capacity.
Manganese is an element found in whole grains, nuts, seeds, leafy green vegetables, and legumes.
This mineral helps the enzyme in our body with antioxidant properties to neutralize free radicals, defending our body by reducing oxidative stress and supports overall cellular health. It is involved in the formation and maintenance of strong bones, synthesis of connective tissues and formation of cartilage. This mineral plays a role in converting food into energy, contributing to overall metabolic health. Manganese is also important for reproductive health, fertility, and the development of reproductive tissues.
Low levels of manganese can cause issues with high cholesterol, poor blood sugar regulation, and can even increase risk for injury due to weakened ligaments, tendons, and cartilage. This can be related to poor dietary intake, or unhealthy lifestyles, but can also simply be because we are getting older! Our body stops absorbing nutrients and our metabolism. Why sit back and accept it, when we can replace manganese directly into our bodies and reap the benefits of this mineral with an IV infusion or injection?!
Arginine AKA the “Miracle Molecule,” is an amino acid that improves blood flow by increasing nitric oxide and is well known for the role it plays in enhancing exercise performance. It’s also found in red meats, fish and dairy.
Getting your blood flowing offers many positive benefits to your body—helping to maintain a healthy blood pressure and supporting fertility to name a few. Arginine also plays a crucial role in promoting wound healing by increasing blood flow to the injured area, helping you heal from the inside out.
I also don’t know anyone who doesn’t want to feel happier, and this little baby is a natural mood booster—essential for the synthesis of serotonin and those other happy hormones!
Amino acids are well known for the role they play in protein synthesis. This makes any IV drip that has amino acids in it useful to improve energy, help with exercise performance, and support a healthy metabolism. Some of the amino acids you will see at The Vibrant C, in addition to Arginine, are Citrulline, Proline, and Lysine. These amino acids are involved in the synthesis of collagen, a structural protein important for the skin, blood vessels, and connective tissues. Lysine supports our bone health. Amino acids also help with muscle growth and repair. Amino acids also support immune function and help to balance blood sugar levels.
L-Carnitine, a naturally occurring amino acid derivative, plays a vital role in energy metabolism, particularly in the transport of fatty acids into the mitochondria where they are oxidized to produce energy. By facilitating the entry of fatty acids into the mitochondria, L-Carnitine supports the conversion of fats into usable energy during exercise, which can help spare muscle glycogen and prolong endurance. Additionally, L-Carnitine has been shown to reduce muscle damage and fatigue by buffering the buildup of lactic acid, thereby promoting quicker recovery between workouts. Moreover, it may enhance blood flow and oxygen delivery to muscles, further optimizing exercise performance. As a result, supplementation with L-Carnitine has been known to improve exercise effectiveness, leading to enhanced endurance, reduced fatigue, and greater gains in physical fitness over time.
